Project Completion – Ermington Restroom

Moodie Outdoor Products has recently completed the construction of a new restroom for Parramatta Council at the Ermington Shop Precinct. The restroom is 1D3A in layout and has been designed to match in with the surrounding landscape.

A solar panel installed on a pole just outside the amenities block charges a battery inside the service duct which powers the lighting and auto timed door locks.

The building consists of of an external skin of face brickwork to match other existing brickwork in the reserve, and painted rendered blockwork internally. Anti-graffiti coating has been applied both internally and externally.

Solar Powered Interactive Play Equipment

Moodie Outdoor Products has recently added Solar Powered Interactive Play equipment to the massive range of Play equipment already available. These items can be configured to run off mains power OR as a stand alone solar powered unit. The Solar Totem Pole embeds all the technology and is energy self-sufficient thanks to its solar panel. It may of course be connected to the mains power if required. It can be equipped with a Bluetooth receiver, allowing any user to connect to it to disseminate his own music. The integrated electronic card allows the system intelligence, and has been designed for outdoor use, it is resistant to extreme temperatures and does not heat thus avoiding problems such as condensation. Project Completion: Integrated Solar Light Install

Moodie Outdoor Products recently installed 6 of the i1200 Integrated Solar Lights to improve worker safety for a client. Being unable to run power to the hazard locations our client was looking for a solution to improve lighting in these areas to minimise the chance of injury. The i1200 was trialled for 1 week before the decision was made to install the light in the other areas. The i1200 was installed onto existing security fencing which meant costs and interruptions due to installation were kept to a minimum. The install was completed within a day.

The features of the i1200 light include:

Integrated solar light with the solar panel. battery and control gear all as one unit
Require 8 hours direct sunlight to charge (panel facing equator)
3 day autonomy
First 3 hours of lighting is at 100% before dropping to 25% thereafter
Contains a PIR motion sensor – meaning that if motion is detected when light is operating at 25% then it will go to 100% output for 30 seconds before dropping back down to 25%
Fits onto 60mm OD mounting pole
Warranty period = 2 years

Project Progress: RMS Restroom Upgrades

Moodie Outdoor Products has recently been in the process of upgrading road side restrooms for the Roads & Maritime Services. The upgrades have included the installation of solar lighting to the building and areas surrounding it, safety improvements to walkways and handrails, replacement of deteriorated hardwood retaining walls with Roocycle materials, the addition of concrete paths and upgrades of internal components such as sinks and toilet pans.

Due the remote nature of these buildings there is no power available thus making solar lighting the perfect upgrade solution. The replacement of hardwood with the Roocycle WPC will ensure a long lasting zero maintenance solution to the deterioration of the existing hardwood retaining walls.
