Moodie Outdoor Products has recently completed the construction of a number of restrooms for Parramatta Council. The restrooms are 1D3A in layout and have been designed with sustainability in mind as they are fully solar powered and harvest rainwater for cleaning purposes. The locations include Rosella Pk, Harris Park – Boronia Pk, Epping – Lions Pk, Winston Hills.
A solar panel installed on a pole just outside the amenities block charges a battery inside the service duct which powers the lighting and auto timed door locks. A 2000L water tank is installed to harvest rainwater for cleaning purposes. These tanks can also be filled with mains water during times of little or no rain.
The building consists of rendered blockwork construction with pre-fabricated and powder coated steel roof frame and verandah posts. Render is painted internal and external with anti-graffiti coating.
